It was the perfect day for baseball at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Mike Carter Field as the 12th Annual Tim Crowder Invitational started tournament play on Thursday. The tournament has six teams, including Tyler Cumberland Academy, Brownsboro, Alba-Golden, Winona, Gladewater and host John Tyler. Game one saw Brownsboro beat Cumberland Academy 14-2. Alba Golden then took on Cumberland Academy winning 21-1. Game three saw Brownsboro beat Gladewater 8-4 in a battle of the Bears. Brownsboro hopped on the board first plating four runs. Michael McCallie opened the game with a single up the middle. He came in to score following a triple deep to center field by Hayden Woods. Lane Epperson then singled to left scoring Woods. Landon Hatton was hit by a pitch with a ground out moving the pair to second and third. Jarrod Hastings belted a double to the gap in left that brought the pair around to score.
