Brownsboro ends season with win over Mabank

BROWNSBORO ENDS SEASON WITH WIN OVER MABANK

The Brownsboro Bearettes season came to an end Tuesday with a 50-48 victory over the Mabank Lady Panthers in Mabank. The Bearettes (18-14, 3-7) held a 24-21 lead at the intermission. Brownsboro was led in scoring by Christon Downey with 10 points. Morgyn Fulgham had eight, McKenzie Smith had eight, Katelyn England and Emma McCoy had six and Alexis Hambrick and Aleaiah Williams had four. Tay Tay Limbrick, Warren and Megan Robertson had one point. Mabank was led by Kathryne German with 31 points. Elizabeth Hardy had nine, Brianna Martin had seven and P. Neighbors had one point. In the junior varsity game, Brownsboro won 49-28, while the Bearettes freshman won 47-21. The Brownsboro JV and freshman teams went undefeated in district and are both district champs. Brownsboro continues undefeated district streak with win over Mabank The Brownsboro Bears improved to 20-5 overall and 8-0 in district play with a 50-40 victory over Mabank Tuesday in Mabank. The Bears were led by Kenneth Woods with 19 points. Kevon Thompson had 18, Gage Wehrmann and Tylor Johnson had four and Chance King had three. Mabank (3-5 in district) was led by Caleb Dally with 23 points. Cade Bell had eight, Devyn Gibbs had four, Seth Grimes had three and Noah Johnston had two. In junior varsity action, Brownsboro won 54-28, while the Mabank freshman won 42-32. Brownsboro is scheduled back in action Tuesday at Van. Malakoff beats Teague Lions The Malakoff Tigers beat the Teague Lions, 80-70, in district play Tuesday at Malakoff. The Tigers were led by Jake Lee with 22 points. Casey Wilson and Andreas Garrett had 17 each, Kadderious Thomas had 11 and Jaquaylon Hart had eight. Klayton Copeland had three and RJ?Carr had two. Malakoff is scheduled back in action Friday at home against Buffalo. Lady Tigers lose to Teague, 46-38 The Malakoff Lady Tigers wrapped up the regular season with a 46-38 loss to the Teague Lady Lions Tuesday in Malakoff. With the loss, the Lady Tigers will face Jewett Leon in Elkhart today to break a tie for second place. The game is scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m. In the loss to Teague, the Lady Tigers were led by senior Jalie Dawson with 28 points. Nakeya Kelly and Shakera Thompson had three and Alliyah Coleman and Taliha Dora had two.
