Bearettes lose in overtime

BEARETTES LOSE IN OVERTIME

The Brownsboro Bearettes lost to the Van Lady Vandals 40-37 Tuesday in overtime. At the end of regulation, the score was tied at 34. Van outscored Brownsboro 7-4 in the extra frame. Brownsboro was led in scoring by Morgyn Fulgham with 16 points. Aleiah Williams and McKenzie Smith had six, Tay Tay Limbrick and Alexis Hambrick had four and Katelyn England had one. Van was led by Kyla Jones with 11. Skylar Savage had seven, Gracie Brewer had six, Macy Rucker, Abi Rumbo and Grace Santos had five and Makiah Dodd had one. Brownsboro is 16-12 overall and 1-5 in district play. The Bearettes are scheduled back in action?Friday against Rains. In the junior varsity game, Brownsboro won 43-12, while the Bearettes freshman won 44-23. Brownsboro beats Van, 48-46 The Brownsboro Bears remained undefeated in district play with a 48-46 victory over the Van Vandals. The Bears (16-5, 4-0) were led in scoring by Kenneth Woods with 22 points. Jared Gailey had six, while Gage Wehrmann, Jarrod Hastings, Kevon?Thompson and Chance King had five points. Van (12-11, 3-1) was led by Zanden Worley with 16 points and Holden Myers with 15 points. In junior varsity action,?Van won 50-37, while in the freshman game Van won 52-38. The Bears return to action Friday against Rains at Brownsboro. Malakoff thumps Jewett Leon The Malakoff Tigers and Lady Tigers had a sweep over Jewett Leon Tuesday. The Lady?Tigers won 53-31 over Leon, while the Tigers thumped Leon 85-49. In the Lady Tigers game, Jalie Dawson led the way with a game-high 29 points. Alliyah Coleman had 12, Taliha Dora had six, Shakera Thompson had four and Charlsey Stearman had three. In the Tigers contest, all nine players scored led by Jaquaylon Hart with 20 points. Deric Davis had 17, Casey Wilson had 14, RJ?Carr had nine and Klayton Copeland had seven. Jake Lee had eight, Andreas Garrett had six while Eric Littleton and Jatarion Walker had two. LaPoynor beats Itasca, 81-43 The LaPoynor Flyers beat Itasca 81-43 in boys action Tuesday.
