The Brownsboro Bears remained undefeated in district play with a 58-45 victory over Rains Friday. Brownsboro (17-5, 5-0) was led by Gage Wehrmann with 18 points. Kevon Thompson had 14, Kenneth Woods had nine, Jared Gailey and Chance King had five and Tylor Johnson had four. Jarrod Hastings had two and Saul Williams had one. With the loss, Rains is 8-16 and 1-4 in district play. In the junior varsity game, Brownsboro won 55-29, while the Bears freshman team won 37-34. Brownsboro is scheduled to be back in action today at Wills Point. Brownsboro loses to Rains The Brownsboro Bearettes dropped to 1-6 in district play with a 45-34 loss to the Rains Ladycats Friday. Brownsboro was led by Alexis Hambrick with seven. Katelyn England and Tay Tay Limbrick had six, Aleaiah Williams had five, Christen Downey had four, Emma McCoy had three, McKenzie Smith had two and Warren had one. Brownsboro is 16-13 overall, and 1-6 in district. They are scheduled to return to action today at Wills Point. In junior varsity action, Brownsboro won 42-29, while the Bearettes freshman team won 46-6. Malakoff splits with Westwood The Malakoff Lady Tigers defeated the Westwood Lady Panthers, 50-23, Friday. In varsity boys action, the Tigers lost 69-50. Malakoff was led in scoring by Jaquaylon Hart with 12 points. Kadderious Thomas had 10, Andreas Garrett had eight, Casey Wilson had seven and Eric Littleton had three. Jake Lee, Deric Davis, RJ Carr and Klayton Copeland had two points each.
