Brownsboro Bears beat Corsicana in overtime

BROWNSBORO BEARS BEAT CORSICANA IN OVERTIME

The Brownsboro Bears defeated the Corsicana Tigers, 59-55, Friday in overtime. The two teams were tied at 52 heading into overtime. Brownsboro (12-5) was led in scoring by Kenneth Woods with 19 points. Kevon Thompson had 17, Jared Gailey had 11, Saul Williams and Ashton Williams had four while Izik Boykin and Tylor Johnson had two. Corsicana (10-14) was led by Ji'Ryn Young with a game-high 21 points. Connor Hutchins had 12, Devan Lindsey scored eight, Ismael Eddington had four, Caleb Watkins and JR Reynolds had three and Colt Kuykendall and Vonte Cumby had two. In the junior varsity game, Brownsboro won, 43-40, while the Bears freshman team won 39-21. Brownsboro returns to action Friday against Wills Point at Brownsboro. Malakoff thumps Elkhart The Malakoff Tigers defeated the Elkhart Elks, 73-48, Friday in district basketball action. The Tigers return to action today at home against the Frankston Indians. The junior varsity game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
