Brownsboro falls to Kaufman Lions, 42-20

BROWNSBORO FALLS TO KAUFMAN LIONS, 42-20

KAUFMAN – Playoff spots are to be cherished. Kaufman made a huge step to securing one of those spots. After this heartbreaker 42-20, Bears head coach Greg Pearson said, "We have our work cut out or us now. “ The first quarter scoring for Kaufman was Jay Gaspar with a 55 yard touchdown run. Devyn Morris ran in the two point conversion. Casey Smith ran in a nine yard td. In the second quarter, the Bears Jonathan Surlet threw seven yards to Izik Boykin for six points. Trey Collier answered for Kaufman with a 45 yard touchdown run. Oscar Morales kicked one of his two extra points. The final three minutes of the half saw Surlet hit Boykin again for 30 yards, and a touchdown. Surlet dived over for the extra two points. Collier ran in another score with 25 seconds to go in the half. Adding the pat, ran the score to 28-14 at the half. The second half scoring was done by Smith for the Lions. He caught a 37 yd pass from Collier for six points. Morales added the pat and Kaufman's lead was 35-14. The first play of the fourth quarter Collier hit Cecil Gaspar on a 17 yard pass for six points. Morales kicked the extra point. The Bears came right back on a Saul Williams 13 yard run to run the score to 42-20. The Bears host Terrell next week. While Kaufman visits Mabank.
