Bullard loses to Brownsboro

BULLARD LOSES TO BROWNSBORO

BROWNSBORO – A great night for football was enjoyed by the large homecoming crowd at Bear stadium. Brownsboro had just enough firepower to defeat Bullard 49-35. Brownsboro Bears head coach Greg Pearson said, “What a night, and what a crowd. The fans should have got their money's worth tonight.” The first half was a time of feast and famine for both teams.The Bears Kevon Thompson scooped up a fumble and rambled 94 yards to score. Saul Williams ran for one touchdown and caught a pass from Jonathan Surlet for another six points. Kenneth Woods ended the scoring for the Bears in the first half catching a long pass from Surlet. Luis Suarez kicked three of his five extra points. The Panthers scored once on a long pass from Cleet Bowman to Trey Clayton. Will McCowin made the first of five extra points, to make the halftime score 27-7. The second half was just as exciting as the first. Bullard scored 28 points in a valiant comeback effort. However, the Bears were not to be denied. The Panther scoring was done on short runs by Cleet and Luke Bowman. Aaron Smith and Reece Rickets caught td passes from Cleet Bowman and Tristen Shewmake respectively. Woods caught another touchdown pass from Surlet, and Thompson and Williams both had touchdowns Thompson also ran in a two point conversion. The Bears travel to Mineola Friday to end non-district play. Bullard plays at home against Commerce.
